- Andreas Burkert holds the Chair of Theoretical and Computational Astrophysics at LMU and is spokesman for the “Origins” Excellence Cluster. He studies the evolution of the universe, the nature of dark matter and the origins of galaxies, stars and planets.
- Ahmad Milad Karimi is Professor of Islamic Philosophy and Mysticism at the University of Münster and is currently a visiting fellow at the CAS. In 2024, he published the monograph Gott 2.0. Grundfragen einer KI der Religion. (God 2.0. Fundamental Questions around an AI of Religion).
- Petra Schwille is Director of the Cellular and Molecular Biophysics Research Department at the Max Planck Institute (MPI) of Biochemistry. Her research has won her awards such as the Leibniz Prize (2010) and the Otto Warburg Medal (2023).

The Center for Advanced Studies at LMU provides a forum for scientific exchange and discussion that bridges the divide between the established disciplines.
